Alas, let the world know...

We desperately wanted to pick up atleast three teams for dreamZhunt-2007. Unfortunately, either the ideas didn't fit into our strategy or we weren't able to arrive at a mutual agreement with few interesting teams.

Nevertheless, we picked up two sound ideas (atleast in our opinion) and they had been working on their ventures recently. We tried our best to keep our promise to fund atleast three teams but we hope to do it better in the next edition.

Without further ado, let me introduce key members of both the ventures:
(1) Mr.Balakumar Muthu
I can't think about Bala without thinking about his blog at www.i5bala.com . Quite a creative guy who knows very well to differentiate a very simple idea. Yep, he is really good at that. He is looking forward to BETA release his idea sometime this month. You'll see that its not a very new idea but its definitely different from others out there.

He has an MBA from Alagappa University.

(2) Mr.D.Shankaranarayan & Mr.Ravi
In a phrase about this team, they are "typical hackers". Never mind, they are very ethical :) They tend to stand in top-10 positions in most of such ratings. Very talented duo and we certainly hope they know to build and motivate a good team in due course. I'm unable to say anything more than this about this team right now. But I'm sure they will bring a good reputation to dreamZhunt when they are out.

Both of these guys have an MCA background from Anna University

Wow, it was definitely a learning experience for the entire team here and we hope to run the show in a much better way in the coming years. But this doesn't mean you have to wait until the event every year. You can pitch your ideas anytime and there would be someone here always to hear you. In worst cases, dreamZhunt team can atleast refer you to someone else who we might know. You can write your emails to ideas@dreamzhunt.com

We thank all the participants for making our first edition achieve a decent start. Obviously, we would like to stuff better in the coming years. We look forward to hear your feedback anytime.

Finally, GOOD LUCK to both the teams who were funded this year and ALL THE BEST for others in your endeavors.

Happy 2007!!! :)

Best Regards
Manoj

The finalists are here...

So we're now getting an idea to match the dreamzhunt submissions with the priorities of SGS Technologie. We know we had been delaying a lot breaking our promises for the last evaluation. But its just because we wanted to get detailed feedback before selecting the teams who we might meet up shortly. Without further ado, here are the list of teams who match the priorities of SGS Technologie:

Application No Name of primary applicant
70 Keshav Murthy
86 Vijay Chada
94 Gurudatt Shenoy
110 VijayaRaghuraman
124 (Offline) D.ShankarNarayan
125 (Offline) Anand Vishnu
128 (Offline) Sujay Neogi
133 Sumit Trivedi
136 Abhishek Nayak
139 Alok Soni

This certainly does NOT mean that other ideas were bad. Its just that these submissions were closer to the kind of ideas we were looking at. We sincerely thank all of you for your time for this edition of dreamZhunt event. We'll keep you posted about the final list set of 3 or 4 teams who we might be going ahead with.

In the meantime, I request you to accept my invitation to join our Google Groups mailing list @ http://groups.google.com/group/dreamzhunt. We'll keep you posted about the progress of this event and announce next editions via this mailing list. Please free to invite your friends/partners who are into the entrepreneurial scene to join this group

We're almost there...

Folks, just to keep you in loop. We're almost there. We've nearly picked up the guys who we'll be meeting in person and interact with - at Chennai. However, we're waiting for feedback from few people who are adding their feedback to your submissions. We'd like to come out with the next shortlist asap but as you might understand, there are some things that are not in control of just dreamZhunt team here. So may be in a couple of days, I believe the shortlist will be published here.

Pls keep checking. Have a splendid weekend!!!

Evaluation in progress...

Just a quick post...

As most of you might know, we're discussing in detail with all the potential teams. I think you can safely assume another couple of weeks before we come up with 10 finalists who are exciting to the funding people here. I can't wait to see how this turns around.

BTW, hope you celebrated the May day yesterday. Happy May Day :)

Keep dreamZhunt-ing for a while.

Round 1 - Shortlisted submissions

Wow, what a fortnight it had been!!!

To frankly admit it, the quality of submissions at the end of the event was much higher than those who submitted in the beginning. This clearly shows the amount of hard work these later submitters had put in for this event. Ofcourse, there were some smart submissions made pretty early too.

We picked up 50 good submissions. You can login to your accounts and check the status of your submission. Congrats to all those who made it to the second round and all the very best to others for your future ventures. It was a real thrilling experience to pioneer and work on something like dreamZhunt.

The next obvious step would be discuss the details with these short-listed applicants and screen it down to "10" in the forth-coming weeks. You can expect this to finish by around April 30.

My special thanks to Mr.Amit Agarwal, Mr.Amit Ranjan, Mr.Kiruba Shankar, Mr.Arun Natarajan, Mr.Ramakrishnan, Mr.Satish Das, Ms.Sujaya and Mr.Balachandran who kindly offered their suggestions/feedback on various occasions that certainly added great value to this event.

dreamZhunt 2007, all set for action

Hello

Greetings to you!

I am really overwhelmed to see the enthusiastic participation from all dreamZhunt contestants. Good luck to you. We have officially closed the receiving of entries to dreamZhunt 2007 summer edition. My team is reviewing all the applications and we are calling up the contestants for further clarifications. You might have already received a call from us. If you haven't , don't panic, you might be next ;-)

So, coming back to the applications that we received, I really admire the innovative business sense that all our dreamZhunt contestants exhibit. And every time I call up the contestants and have an interaction with them, their never ending enthusiasm only encourages our team further.

While the majority of business concepts fit our description of being "IT related" , some or a handful of ideas were non-IT related, or even outside the realm of technology. But I really appreciate the initiative taken by the contestants, it shows how strong they are in their aspirations. Cheers to you guys. Keep up the spirit.

And a word of encouragement to those who have missed the deadline... Doesn't matter. Keep trying. You can still approach me or my team with your ideas. You will not come under the purview of dreamZhunt 2007, but still we will try our level best to help you.

Right now there is a lot of activity up here, I will share them with you in the coming days. For the time being April16th is the date you got to watch out for. Thats when we'll tell you who the shortlisted contestants are.....

Till then stay in touch...
